Do you give yourself breaks?

Can you take a step back and accept people for who they are?

We are thrilled to present to you our Motivational Blogger Ramelle Carter, who has intriguing answer to those questions.

How would you describe yourself?

I am a soft-spoken yet confident, driven person with energy and drive to get things done through hard work, and team effort. My motivation is definitely my family, most importantly my three children, who keep me happy, carefree, full of energy and desire to give it my best try.

What is the most inspiring sentence you have ever read or heard?

“If ever you don’t succeed, try, try again” – W. E. Hickson. This is just one of the most important sentences for me. It means giving myself breaks and going back to the drawing board, doing things again. I am born under the zodiac sign Cancer. Family is always first, therefore I take time with family/personal life first. Then, regroup, refresh my mind to see what else I can tackle, and accomplish. I profess to stay positive and play it safe

What is the one temptation you would be better off removing from your life?

Chocolate, Sugar Wafers, Carbs!!!! They make me fat, get rid of them. Yes. food is not always the best solution but I need it to sustain my stability to function day by day. The mental picture has to be clear so these things are what I crave yet I try to keep them at bay.

What’s something you enjoy doing for other people?

I love giving my time, helping in the community and learning from others. I also love to hear smart, intelligent people talk because I learn so much. Usually, I try to pay attention when another person is showing me love and kindness it is just the best.

Have you judged someone you don’t really know? How did you feel about it?

Yes, I judge attitudes. For example, if no one speaks to me, sometimes I judge them as having anger. But, I need to step back and just accept people for who they are. Maybe it’s not just against me or anyone. I don’t mean it to say that I am giving myself all the attention but sometimes I want all the attention.

What’s standing between you and your biggest goal?

Money. I think everyone has this issue. The feeling of “If I just had this much money things will be okay.” Right, I get it, money will not make you happy but it will help purchase what you need to get started on a goal or project.

When was the last time you thought about yourself?

Today. I think about myself, what I need to do and how I can do it better. I decided to join my local Chamber of Commerce because I wanted to help my community so I consider myself, a community advocate.

What’s something positive you try to keep in mind when negativity surrounds you?

I think about my grandmother who stood only 4’11 inches tall, myself only 4’10 inches tall. When I walk into any room, I have to think of myself as being 10 feet tall. Then, when negativity comes my way, I get back up and do it over again. If I mess up, fix it and do better.

What’s something you look forward to?

A healthy body, mind, and soul. I pray for this every day. I look forward to falling in love or building a relationship with someone, a man who understands my needs without me telling him.

A man who is attentive, compassionate, bold with his thoughts. Man with strong ambitions. He needs to be handsome, strong, good job, healthy, intelligent, ready to pamper me, when I say pamper not meaning with goods but with his kindhearted energy and spirit.

What was the most painful experience you ever went through? How did you conquer it?

The loss of my father from AIDS. My father passed during the AIDS crisis that took the life of many people in the Hemophilia community. I found out my dad was ill, after the famous actor, Rock Hudson passed away. My dad has been gone for over 20 years. but it’s still painful to talk about it. You just have to take one step at a time.

What does living a good life mean to you?

Every area of my life is good. I have three kids, 2 of who are teenagers. A boy, 13 years old, who plays basketball and wants to be a professional basketball player. My daughter, she is almost 16 so I am gearing up for a Sweet Sixteen party soon.

My youngest son is 11 years old and he is just the baby. We have the best time together even on our down days, especially with my daughter. We don’t see eye to eye on things, but I have love for all my children and just want the best for them. My children always make me feel good about myself. I live good knowing that I am healthy and happy with all thanks to God and my Lord, Savior Jesus Christ.

How would you describe freedom?

Sometimes, I feel that there is still no freedom in America, especially being a person of color. But, I feel freedom in my heart. I have freedom to think about my actions so as to have good reactions. Freedom of my soul, so that I can make good choices, and figure out how to develop by eliminating bad choices.

What do you do to find serenity in a chaotic world?

I find patience in listening to music, all kinds of music. Also, taking steps to ensure my body is healthy in such a way that my organs and cells are working at the optimal level. That way I can have a better perspective of my needs and possibly the needs of others I help.

What is the one habit you have that makes you different from others?

It depends on if you are talking about a good -vs- bad habit. One good habit is taking my vitamins, bad habit rather not divulge, only because I am a private person. What I will say that the habit has to do with my hands, and that is all I will say. One other bad habit, I need to read more books, as a writer it is fundamental, or so I was told.

What message can you leave to our community to motivate them?

Always look on the bright side and keep pushing. I know my first thought must be a positive outlook. I am not ‘Perfect Patty’ although I want happiness, joy, pleasure even with life’s obstacles and challenges. I can build a bridge of peace in my brain. Hoping, with great expectations that everyone who visits my website should know that when you work for a common goal, then the reaction should be total peace and relaxation.

It goes along with the ability of how I measure success with a healthy mind, body, and soul. This will ignite the image of loving yourself, on top of making sure your destination is total satisfaction and motivation in your heart. I also base my purpose on the fact of accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Religion may not be the key for everyone, so I offer what brings you peace and love to your heart, go with that.

  2. Nice to meet you, Ramelle. I need to take the advice of taking care of the body better since I have been sitting down so much lately doing my work. I too believe that healthy body, mind and soul is the foundation of a good, meaningful life.

  3. I am working on those same temptations. 🙂 I am thinking about my answers to the rest of the questions…
