We are excited to present to you our Motivational Blogger of the Week, Mecklins Akwuagu!

He has an amazing story to share with our community. His task was pretty simple, 10 questions to answer with at least one or two paragraphs, and expound the answers as long as he wanted.

What is your greatest fear?

I think the question should be what WAS my greatest fear, because I have outgrown all my fears. Look, fear is not real, it is an illusion. I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.

The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear - Nelson Mandela

Your success is behind your fear. When you're afraid of anything, it means that your target and success are behind the very thing your mind pictures as fear.

My greatest fear was leaving my comfort zone. I lived with an uncle who built a beautiful house which was more of a paradise. The house had everything life may need, 24/7 power supply, well furnished, everything was in good order. Looking at those things they are beautiful and enjoyable. When I decided to leave and sail on my own, it was a very tough decision because I was going out to an unknown place.

No one was out there to help me. Where will I live? Who will shelter me or take care of me?All these were the questions coming to my mind. Everyone was against me, but my burning desire to go out there and leave my own footsteps kept me going. I have this strong desire to see life from a different angle.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have the burning desire to go out and conquer the world and make it a better place . I have an inclination to be successful and that was what kept me going.

What life lesson did you learn the hard way?

I learned many valuable lessons. You see, life is what you make of it.

Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it - Charles Swindoll

Imitation is limitation. In my early youth, I was afraid of standing alone to face my dream. I am one of those boys who had a dream that was bigger than me. I always want to try the impossible, but the fear of unknown always took away my strength.

Not until I realized that I have ended up limiting myself and achieve nothing. I spent many years not living my own life but rather living another people's life. Fear of failure is what makes you go for the easier option.

Do just once what others say you can’t do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again - James R Cook

The best road to travel is less busy road. That is the only road with countless opportunities. I chose to do what others failed to do so that tomorrow I can get what others failed to get. That have made the difference.

What did you learn recently that changed the way you think?

I learned that the way to conquer your fear is by doing what you fear. Whenever I'm afraid of something, the next thought will be to try it. When you try your fear, you become stronger and achieve success.

Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor - Truman Capote

When you allow your fear to draw you back, you become lazy and achieve nothing. You have nothing to lose when you fail. It's either you win or you learn. There is no fear of one thing or the other, the difference is how you handle your fear. Winners lose much more often than losers. If you keep losing but you’re still trying, keep it up! You’re right on track.

What is the difference between living and existing?

We live by the seed we plant, not by the harvest we get. Some people exist doing nothing and being lazy.

A man who does not have something for which he is willing to die is not fit to live - Martin Luther King Jr.

When you don't contribute to the world, you're taking from it and you are not living, only existing. It's either you are a blessing to the earth or you are burden. You make a living by what you earn; you make a life by what you give.

What lifts your spirits when life gets you down?

Whenever I feel like quitting, I remember why I started. That has been my secret all along. I hated every minute of training, but I told myself: "Don't quit".

Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion - Mohammed Ali

Your desire for success must be greater than your fear for failure before you can succeed. Most time when I felt like giving up, I always thought of the ways I have dealt with my fears. I always remember the greatest challenges I've met and conquered. I remind myself that obstacles are the cereals of champions.

I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been entrusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed - Michael Jordan.

There must be a time one of your leg will be hanging on failure. That is the time you need to tighten up your belt and remember why you started.

What is your definition of success?

Success can mean many things to different people . As for me, success is that which remains after all the struggles, all the failures and all the obstacles. The outcome is what I term success. If it's good, it means I win but if the outcome is bad, I didn't lose. I only learned how to do it wrong which will definitely lead me on how to do it right.

What advice can you give to someone who is losing hope?

The only way to win is to continue trying. Losing hope is losing all you have gotten and all you will get. I would advise to continue working hard and smart with  tenacity. If the idea is not working then change the goal but not the idea.

You cannot get different results by using the same method or approach. You need to try something new and see the difference, otherwise you will end up getting the same result. Anything your heart can dream it can achieve. Give your time. Plant a seed, nurture it and watch the seed grow. Never give up.

Why do you want to inspire and motivate others?

I want give life to souls which are lavishing. The world ignores the vitality of human existence which is motivation. People often say that motivation doesn't last. People should learn to recommend motivation daily as it is the fuel that will uplift your spirit.

The same way your body needs food is the same way your soul needs motivation. I chose to motivate people because I have experienced a lot in life. I have conquered a lot and I have learned a lot. All my stories are motivational which is why I choose to motivate others through them.

Who motivates you?

My motivators are those I learned from and those I look up to when I am dismayed.

My first motivator is John D Rockefeller. He was the richest man in America. His life is a great motivation to many people. He was that young man who grew up from a poor background but never allowed his background to draw him to the back ground. He had a spirit to get whatever he wanted. He believed that everything is possible.

My second motivator is my uncle . He is a great man with great wisdom. I learned many success tips and the realities of life from him. I know him when he had no bank account but today he have many bank account with money. Looking at how he started I gain hope and it pushes me to do more.

I cannot complete this if I didn't mention the great business mogul, Robert Kiyosaki. After reading his book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", my mind drastically changed from the way I look at money. He has a spirit that can turn rags into fortune. In every obstacle there is an opportunity.

How do you sustain self-motivation when you suffer a setback toward your goals?

I remember why I started and how I have treated similar issue. I tell myself that giving up is not an option. I always remind myself that if I can pass this stage, I will definitely get what I want.

In fact, I take my life as a game. Whenever I am faced with difficulties, I always strive hard until I pass the stage. Continues reading of motivational books and about successful people is the secret that have kept my spirit moving.

If you want to be a doctor you must read what doctors read and do what they do. If you want to be a pilot you cannot read law. What you need is to read about being a pilot. The best way to do a great job is to love what you do. You cannot do a job well if you do not fall in love with it .
